I'm currently editing a wedding and have just seen a photo I took of some lovely wedding words which seem to sum up perfectly what marriage is for me - particularly on this anniversary of September 11th when so many people lost their loved ones.

Marriage is....
A commitment.It's success doesn't depend on feelings, circumstances or moods, but on two people who are loyal to each other and the vows they took on their wedding day.

It is patience and forgiveness. It is being open and honest, thoughtful and kind.
Marriage means talking things out, making necessary changes and forgiving each other.

It is unconditional love when your partner is vulnerable - a love that supports, comforts and is determined to triumph over every challenge and adversity.

It is a partnership between two people who bring out the best in each other -

and know that although they are wonderful as individuals they are better together.

Well, doesn't it just show that you never know what's round the corner.

Minutes after I posted the free snow shoot offer for today Gareth rang me to say someone had crashed into him (because of the snow!) whilst he was taking Sam to school.

Thankfully no one is hurt, but it does mean that the car is now out of action and so I will need to spend the day sorting that out rather than taking photos.

So, apologies to those quick off the mark folks who emailed and we will take a rain-check on the shoot - or rather a snow-check!

Louise looked stunning and Danny?? Well, he looked a bit stunned!! Only kidding - he looked the proudest man on earth as he married his gorgeous bride Louise.
The ceremony was held in the peaceful Church of St Bartholemew in Great Harwood, and the venue was one of my personal favourites, Mitton Hall.
There was everything - a casino, a caricaturist and a roast suckling pig!

Heather and Mike married at Stanley House yesterday. It poured with rain, but it was still one of the brightest wedding days I have had the privilege to photograph.Heather is one feisty, special, beautiful lady. She oozed charm and glamour yesterday and Mike looked like he had won the lottery. Back in 2001, Heather sustained over 70% burns in a house fire. She was critically ill for months and has endured countless operations since.She has overcome what many wouldn't and was a worthy winner of Studio 25 and The Trafford Centre's Win Your Wedding competition last year. This wedding has been months in the planning and it was just an amazing day from start to finish.Here are just a few moments from Heather and Mike's Big Day. Well done guys, you were wonderful.

Laura and Roy married at Eaves Hall in West Bradford, Clitheroe. They were blessed with the most beautiful day, and I like to think someone special was looking down with love and joy.

The last wedding of the weekend was a cracker! Jaki and Simon had a ball at Mitton Hall!

We took them to Cromwell's Bridge after their wedding breakfast and took some spectacular portraits. here's one...

Also known as Devil's Bridge, the packhorse bridge across the Hodder was built by Sir Richard Shireburn in 1562, replacing a wooden bridge dating from at least 1331. Legend says that it was used by Oliver Cromwell during his march from Skipton to intercept the Royalists at the Battle of Preston in 1648.

Gillian and Antony have been together for ten years! Their wedding was certainly worth waiting for. I spent 12 hours with them, from Sedgwick's in Blackburn, the hairdressers, in the morning to after the first dance at The Pines Hotel in Chorley - and what an amazing venue that was! There were some beautiful children in attendance, too!

I have a lovely little friend, Miss Kahlilla Blyss. I've never met her - she lives on Phillip Island in Australia.

Lill is just 5 years old and has spent over half her little life fighting a terrible disease, neuroblastoma.

For anyone who needs an uplifting read, I thoroughly recommend her website.

I've just received a lovely card through the post...from Andy and Mel who got married 18 months ago, then had a sad time as Andy's mum wasn't well, then died. It took a while to choose their album pix because of this, but we eventually got their Graphibook to them.

Just talking about today's weather...it's such a shame when the weather turns so quickly...yesterday it was the most glorious sunshine. We had Chloe modelling for us. Gareth first met Chloe when she came in for a passport photo - and being Canadian the requirements are different. They got talking and she agreed to be a model for us whenever we needed. Good news for us as she is so stunning!

We have a work experience student in the studio this week. Her friends are all in work experience sweeping floors and cleaning windows.

Our Rachael has designed a wedding album and today did a wedding portrait shoot.

Trash the dress - my thoughts by Nicola Bradley.

After my wedding I couldn't bring myself to put my beautiful dress away. I hung it outside my wardrobe and kept looking at it. I had such happy memories but felt sad at the same time. As you know after all the planning, excitement and stress your wedding dress is only worn for such a short time.

I couldn't decide what to do with my dress - have it cleaned and sell it, wrap it up and keep for a daughter...but would she have the same good taste! Cut it up for a Christening robe or a prom dress...my mind was buzzing.

Studio 25 told me about their 'Trash The Dress' sessions a few weeks before my wedding. As any bride to be knows, you are fixated with only your wedding day at this time and can't really think beyond that date.

After we had been on Honeymoon and life had settled down a bit, I went to see Debbie and Gareth at Studio 25 about booking 'Trash the Dress'.

Well, John and I had the most amazing afternoon. Debbie and Gareth took us on a photo shoot to Clitheroe Castle and Edisford Bridge where I walked through the river in my wedding dress, complete with veil and tiara! Studio 25 captured some amazing photos of us on swings, me being carried out of the water by John, running through the park barefoot, on a bandstand, my veil being blown in the air and some stunning portraits with Clitheroe Castle as a backdrop.

Studio 25 were brilliant with us. We didn't stop laughing from start to finish. Debbie and Gareth were full of ideas and encouraged us to add some of our own.

We felt so much more relaxed having these photos taken than on our actual wedding day. I had my hair and make-up done differently and felt that I could really have fun wearing my beautiful dress all over again.

Trash the Dress gave us an opportunity to recapture some happy memories from our wedding day but without all the pressure of worrying about being at the reception for a set time and keeping guests waiting...........this afternoon was just for us.

I feel much happier now to let my dress go to a good cause, and feel I really got my money's worth from it!

We did a great trash the dress session at the weekend with Nicola and John. She was so delighted to get back into her dress and looked amazing. Rain nearly stopped play, but in the end the sun shone through. We let them have a go on the swings before dunking them in the River Ribble!

I also had Lisa's parents in to collect Lisa'a album. It was wonderful to watch her mum cry with happiness at each page she looked at. Lisa is expecting her first baby in October, so that is really exciting news!

Well, a busy week for me. I finished a wedding album - shortly to be winging its way to Graphistudio in Italy.

I worked my one shift at the hospital, and received a letter today saying congrats on my long service there - 25 years...do I want to attend an awards ceremony. I think I will and I may or may not speak my mind about Hospital care today compared to 1982 when I started my training!

I do still enjoy making a difference to patients lives so I expect I'll keep on nursing for the near future anyway!

My buzz comes from the weddings though and I'm looking forward to the next wedding whch is fast approaching.

I'm very much looking forward to meeting a cousin on Sunday. We have got in touch via Ancestry.com. I think we are 3rd cousins, on my maternal grandmother's side. I'm so excited to go and meet Louise.

Just for the record, here are my maternal great grandma and great grandad on their wedding day in 1902. Sarah Hannah Stott and Willie Wood.

We flew to Inverness for Colin and Helena's wedding, and had a thoroughtly good time at The Loch Ness Clansman Hotel .

We sadly didn't see the Loch Ness Monster, but it didn't stop us having a fab time!

Colin and Helenagot married on the Jacobite Legend whilst enjoying a cruise of Loch Ness. Photos at Urquhart Castle followed, then a delicious wedding breakfast at The Clansman.

Royal Wedding Day

On May 17th Peter Phillips married Autumn Kelly at St. Georges Chapel, Windsor.

We had our own Wedding - that of Louise and Paul who had an amazing day at The Belfry Hotel .

The photos were taken in beautiful Walkden Gardens - and I well recommend a visit!

Louise looked simply stunning, and Paul didn't look too bad himself!

Another busy weekend for Studio 25.

Gareth had two photoshoots - lovely Samantha and her sisters and Margaret and her fab family!

We also booked a new wedding for next year in two of my very favourite places. The ceremony is at Towneley Hall in Burnley and then on to a champagne reception at Mitton Hall in Mitton near Clitheroe. Congratulations to the lovely couple, Sara and Paul.

I've been busy in the studio this week. I've posted Natasha and Dan's wedding album and Samantha and Jon's wedding proofs out, so there will be some happy customers today!
